How come in Italy all the italian girls have Louie vuitton bags? what is over there that makes it affordable?
I know my aunt in italy is always complaining about how it is so expensive to live there.. does anyone know? I know you can negotiate prices there..
No we CANT negotiate prices here....we are not in a bazar shop..
Not all women got it and anyway lots of them are sheeps
Many of the bags you see like that are fakes that were purchased from illegal street vendors. There has been a crackdown on fake products and the vendors this year and there are signs up in the major tourist spots like Venice, Rome, and Florence warning people not to buy – there is a substantial fine now for buying fake products. You still see some vendors out, but not nearly as many as in past years.

conley39 is correct. The majority of Louis Vuitton bags you see in Italy are fakes. Not only are they easily available from the African traders that appear on every tourist street in the major cities, but fakes are easy to buy over the Internet.
Original Louis Vuitton bags are just as expensive in Italy as in the rest of the world, and on the whole are only bought by wealthy women.

I’m Italian… I’ve never had a Luoie Vuitton bag… Some people prefer to have economical debts and wear expensive clothes and accessories. Other ones just buy some fakes which are different just for some details but they’re cheap and they look almost the same…

Many people don’t have them a lot prefer Gucci bags.

We can’t negotiate prices… this is absurd! We have shops and prices, as yours one.

90% of the luis Vuitton bags that you can see in Italy are fake, and finding them is very easy. They say it’s illegal selling them, but streets in the big cities and beaches are full of african people selling fake branded products at a very low price, so that they are affordable for everyone.
It’s true that we like negotiating but it happens only in the markets ot small shops, and not for luxury and expensive items.

What the others told you is correct: many Louis Vuitton, and other high fashion brands (Prada, Armani, Dolce e Gabbana…) bags and clothes you see people wearing are imitations purchased off-market, from illegal street vendors. Some people think wearing brands makes them look more stylish.
The only people who own original high fashion products are wealthy people. It is also true, though, that there are quite a few wealthy people in some areas (for instance, if you walk down via Condotti in Rome, or via Montenapoleone in Milan, you may actually see people with original high fashion products – because those are the areas were the affluent go shopping).
A point – I am a woman, and have never owned a Vuitton bag, whether true or fake, and neither have my friends. Actually, I find Vuitton bags pretty ugly (and unjustifiably expensive), and don’t really care for brands (actually, I prefer no brand to be clearly visible on my clothes – I find brand-sporting bad taste), as long as the things I buy are pretty and high quality.
As in most other parts of Europe, you can’t actually negotiate prices here (try doing it in a shop, I bet they’ll look at you as if you were the worst cheapskate!) – at least not in real shops, were they have to pay taxes. Also, often in shops the salespeople are not the owners, and they are not allowed to give discounts.
Of course, if you buy from illegal street vendors, negotiating is no problem, since they don’t pay taxes for their goods.
