If someone buys a BMW or if a girl buys a louie vaton bag, is it Haram to be materialistic ???
it isn't haram if they have the spare money after paying proper amount of zakah, and securing their Deen in the society. after that, they can spend it on halal things.
of course, cars and bags are halal, unless their manufacturers are working against Islam in any way. its the same as helping in the trades and profits of a pork butcher, while you are only buying chicken from him.
anyway, if you are not really bothered about earning maximum thawaab and striving only in the course of Allah ta'ala, you don't need to bother about the rest. But if you do care about what happens to you in the Aakhirah, then you might wanna switch that luxury shopping and material satisfaction to helping the poor Muslima of the world...or buying some good Islamic books, etc.
all your actions count honey, and it will be presented to Allah. its your free will, now you can choose to satisfy yourself, or please Allah...so you can get all the luxury of Paradise.
salaam
